A team of French researchers think so.
In 2014 they locked 56 “willing” participants into a study centre. For the first three days their water consumption was tightly monitored. Then the research team started to mess with the daily ration of H20. The idea was to see if varying someone’s water intake affected their mood. The methods might have sounded a bit strange, torturous even, but the results were nothing short of remarkable.
The intervention showed that an increase in daily water consumption led to significant mood improvements in those people who usually drank less than 1 litre of water per day*.
Dr. John Tickell says, "science has shown us that water is an excellent solution for improving mood and reducing negative stress, with well hydrated people reporting less fatigue, less confusion, and less tension".
