Sarah Edwards, Sales Director at Leicht Contracts, approached the Zip team in 2019 while on the hunt for a premium tap brand that - on top of matching the top design spec needed for the high-end kitchens - could provide WRAS approved products.
The brief
WRAS approval is increasingly becoming a priority for new build projects, especially in London. Not only is this accreditation incredibly important to showcase that a product meets G3 building regulations and is safe for family use, but Thames Water also consider this an essential stamp of approval if they are to connect an instant boiling drinking water tap up to their mains supply.
“When preparing the specification for this project, we were looking to achieve a classy, timeless and quality range of products that would assist the end user in their daily lives,” explains Sarah. “The decision to include a Zip HydroTap was hugely driven by the fact that the systems are WRAS approved. It is a requirement that any taps in new build developments have WRAS approval, having learnt many years ago the hard way that this is vital to the site’s water services being connected”.
The solution
As well as providing this must-have accreditation - something other residential taps on the market could not – the HydroTap met expectations on functionality and aesthetics. Leicht Contracts specified nine HydroTap Celsius Arcs in matt black to provide residents with instant filtered boiling water, plus unfiltered hot and cold for washing up.
"The tap fits seamlessly with the Caesarstone quartz worktops and built-in Bosch appliances.” Leicht Contracts have since chosen to showcase the system at their showroom on Euston Road in central London and have installed a HydroTap All-in-One Arc in the office kitchen so employees can keep hydrated and cut out single use plastic water bottles at work.
“We were able to colour-match the on trend matt black HydroTap to certain elements of the kitchen furniture, which created a stylish and attractive scheme."
