The brief

Symphony, in collaboration with renowned accessible kitchen designer Adam Thomas, continues to evolve its Freedom brand - creating kitchens that are inclusive by design. The focus is on supporting a wide range of accessibility needs while maintaining a premium, uncompromised style. Working alongside Zip Water this ongoing partnership is redefining expectations - shifting away from purely functional spaces towards environments that are both elegant and inclusive. A key priority is the seamless integration of multifunctional tap technology that enhances usability, safety, and independence, without compromising on style.

The solution

The solution

Through its continued partnership with Zip Water, Symphony and Adam Thomas integrate the Zip HydroTap into its accessible kitchen designs, delivering instant filtered boiling, chilled, and sparkling filtered water in a user-friendly format.

Selected for its combination of advanced functionality, filtration, and flexibility, the HydroTap supports a more considered kitchen. Its compact, under-counter system helps maintain clean, uncluttered surfaces while flexible installation options enable placement that suits individual user needs.

Accessible Design Features

Inclusive Controls: Intuitive touch operation and an optional external controller, including touch-free options, enable ease of use for individuals with limited mobility or dexterity.

Enhanced Safety: Cool-to-the-touch tap heads allow safe handling, while an integrated boiling safety lock minimises risk for everyone in the household.

Smooth Flow: Delivers a consistently smooth, controlled stream of water – no spitting, no sputtering – ensuring a safe dispense of boiling water. Flexible Placement: The HydroTap can be positioned according to individual user needs. Installed over or away from the sink, the design possibilities are endless.

The partnership has been featured on George Clarke’s Beautiful Builds on Channel 4. The featured Freedom by Symphony kitchen, designed for Ben White and his family, highlighted how Zip Water’s HydroTap supports everyday usability for the full family – and particularly for Ben, who is a full-time wheelchair user. The episode reinforced the importance of designing kitchens that work for everyone, combining thoughtful ergonomics with cutting-edge technology.

"The HydroTap range is fully inclusive and coupled with Zip Water's Accessibility Controller, it enables safe operation for all. This is especially important for older and disabled people, supporting independent use for so many, often for the first time - it's truly empowering!"
