The brief
A long standing customer of Zip Water - over 15 years - Lakeland has a range of both G3 and G4 HydroTaps and HydroBoils installed across sites nationwide. Dusana was looking for retrofit solutions that would help reduce the risk of cross contamination in areas where hygiene is now paramount.
Dusana and Facilities Manager Dan Martindale arranged for four of their HydroTap Classics to be upgraded to the new Zip HydroTap Touch Free Wave, two in the breakout areas in the head office and two in the distribution centre.
The solution
Offering 100% contactless access to filtered boiling and chilled drinking water, the new touch-free HydroTap enables staff to fill mugs, glasses and reusable bottles by simply hovering their hand next to clever infrared sensors. This minimises the risks of this essential communal facility spreading any unwanted germs.
Lakeland also fitted compatible touch-free adaptors to the site’s four on-wall HydroBoil units that provide instant boiling drinking water for tea and coffee. The easy to install adaptor allows users to simply push back on the handle with their mug to access on-demand boiling water, meaning hot drinks can be made without needing to touch the tap.
"The touch-free operation is perfect for the current situation. It has made employees feel safer, it is definitely a great investment for the future - touch-free is here to stay. We have worked with Zip for many years now and have always been impressed by their products and service."
