Water hygiene is important. We'd go as far as to say it's in our DNA. Hence UltraCare, our science-backed combination of localised treatments and barriers that are proven to reduce waterborne organisms and pathogens like Legionella.
The most effective treatment available, the barriers we use support the HSE ACOP L8 guideline for controlling Legionella bacteria in water systems.
MicroPurity carbon-free filter
Zip's market-leading MicroPurity filtration technology, featuring a 0.2 micron carbon-free filter, is certified to reduce chlorine, bacteria, sediment, and limescale in line with NSF 42 (aesthetic effects) and Watermark requirements.
It also reduces 99.9% of cysts, including Cryptosporidium and Giardia, and 98.9% of lead in line with NSF 53 (health effects).
UV-C LED disinfection module
HydroTap UltraCare's first line of defence is a MicroPurity UV-C LED module on the outlet of the systems chilled water tank.
UV-C photons penetrate cells and damage the nucleic acid, rendering them microbiologically inactive or incapable of reproduction. At Zip, hygiene's a high priority — our UV-C LED technology has been individually tested and certified to the relevant NSF and WaterMark performance standards, so you know that you're working with the best.

Antimicrobial protection
We apply an antimicrobial treatment to key water pathways to reduce surface bacteria levels and provide effective protection against harmful bacteria like salmonella, VRE (vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus), CPE (carbapenems producing Enterobacteriaceae), and Legionella.
